S.E.A.L.

Montgomery Elementary has embraced the Sobrato Early Academic Language (S.E.A.L) model that integrates the teaching of science and social studies with enriched language and literacy. This model also encourages a strong partnership between families and teachers in developing the literacy and language of their children, while affirming and supporting home language. We currently use the S.E.A.L model in grades TK-3 and will soon expand to grades 4-6. Within our S.E.A.L. classrooms, you will see evidence of rich oral language combined with effective research-based teaching practices that foster higher-level thinking, creativity, and collaboration.
