Volunteer
Volunteer a few hours each school year! The PTSA selects volunteer opportunities that are specific, of short duration, fun and are performed with other fellow volunteers.
Only a few hours are needed! YOUR HELP IS APPRECIATED.
How to Signup to Volunteer:
- Fill out the Donation/Membership form and select how you would like to help Chaboya.
- Look for Colt Headline Web News and emails, from our principle, on volunteer opportunities as events are being planned during the year.
- Contact chaboyaptsa@gmail.com with your interest to volunteer.

Interested in being on the Chaboya PTSA Board?
Each year, the PTSA elects new officers for the following school year. If you are interested in becoming an officer please contact us at chaboyaptsa@gmail.com.
Our officer positions are listed every year for next school year and not all positions are open every year - we would love to be able to talk to you about available positions. We prefer candidates who can serve for two years, but are open to discussion.
For Parents
Volunteering at your child’s school is a great opportunity to gain an understanding of the environment your child experiences most every day. Show your child that you recognize the importance of their education and support their social activities. See Volunteer Opportunities at Chaboya Below.

Reflections Art Contest – This is a national PTA art recognition program that occurs in the Fall. Students submit entries in the following art categories: dance, film, literature, music, photography, and visual art. Winners receive various prizes/awards and a chance to showcase their art at the national PTA convention.
Chaboya Challenge & Carnival - This is one of our two main fundraisers of the year. PTSA sponsors a school-wide pledge drive, called the Chaboya Challenge and puts on a carnival for students and families. For 2019, the Carnival will be on August 23.
Spelling Bee – Each year in the Fall & Winter, students participate in a written and oral spelling exam. Winners advance to the regional Scripps National Spelling Bee, with an opportunity to advance to the national competition in Washington, D.C.
Honors Programs – At the end of the year, there is an Honors Night to recognize our high achieving students.
Teacher Appreciation – Our staff at Chaboya work hard and in order to say “thank you”, a team of volunteers creates a special week of events to show our appreciation for all that our staff does throughout the year. The event usually occurs in May of each year.
Dances & Other Staff-driven events – Throughout the year, Chaboya staff needs volunteer to help serve food at dances, staff games at the bi-annual Olympics, and other fun events.
Chaboya Copy Center – Chaboya teachers frequently have photocopy needs for their classes. Volunteers rotate and come into the Copy Center once a week to help with photocopying.
