MDPT Assessment for 6th Graders
Posted 05/24/2020 03:05PM

Matsumoto's 6th grade students will be taking the MDTP assessment on Monday, June 1st. Teachers will proctor the assessment via Zoom. Students must keep their camera on for the entirety of the assessment.

  • All elementary sites are administering the 6th grade diagnostic math assessment.
  • The assessment is called the MDTP and the title of the assessment that 6th graders will take is called: Algebra 1/Integrated Math 1 Readiness Test.
  • Results from the MDTP assessment AND the 2019 CAASPP math assessment will assist in determining middle school math placement.
  • For incoming 7th graders, all middle schools offer Common Core Math 7 and Accelerated Math 7/8.
  • Students must meet the criteria set by the district in order to qualify for Accelerated Math 7/8. Middle schools are then provided a list of students meeting the criteria and they schedule them into the correct course.
  • Additional questions about the MDTP math assessment, or the district's set criteria for establishing math placement, can be directed to Mr. Dan Deguara, Assistant Superintendent of Instruction. His email address is ddeguara@eesd.org
