Dear 6th Grade Families,

Tom Matsumoto Elementary School is proud of our 6th graders. Honoring the promotion of our 6th graders has been a concern since the day school was closed. This transition marks the beginning of middle school and sets up continued future success. This year, we are faced with balancing Matsumoto's tradition with everyones' safety. Due to safety concerns, no school sites will be hosting car parades for promotions. In this unique time of distance learning, we have created a virtual promotion ceremony to honor our students.

PROMOTION CEREMONY

We will hold a virtual promotion ceremony on June 12 at 10:00 A.M. The ceremony will be streamed online at:

PROMOTION CERTIFICATES

Promotion certificates will be available for pick-up when the students pick-up their things from class and drop-off textbooks/library books. A schedule will be sent out by your classroom teacher for the Week of June 8th. Your child will need to return textbooks and the school-issued Chromebook (if he or she borrowed one) at the same time. If applicable, honors and other awards will also be included in the packet. Your child's teacher will coordinate pick-up and drop-off of school related-materials. When coming to campus, all students and parents must wear a mask and follow social distancing protocols.
