After School Programs

At Katherine Smith School we have a Learning CAFE to support up to 200 more students with academic and enrichment activities including dance, art and sports. The Boys and Girls club offers after school care until 6:30 pm. Club leaders pick up students from our school and walk with them to the club center a short distance away. There is a sliding scale fee for participation in this program. This program engages youth in mentoring relationships with caring adults and offers a variety of programs by trained youth development staff. The YMCA of Silicon Valley provides after school care on site at our school for 1st - 6th grades. There is a sliding scale fee for participation in this program. YMCA after school programs provide a variety of daily activity options to help your child explore and develop their interests and talents. Through homework help and daily enrichment activities, youth enhance their academic performance, self-esteem, and build for the future. The wrestling club will be offered to upper grade students after school two days a week. Two certificated teachers lead the club and teach participants wrestling rules and skills. There are practices in addition to participation in a competitive league with other elementary schools.
