School Meals

School meals are a great value and a huge convenience for busy families. Silver Oak's school lunches are provided by the Child Nutrition Services (CNS) Department of Evergreen School District (ESD). Silver Oak school serves lunch daily, but does not serve breakfast.

The regular price for school lunch is $3.50. EESD offers lunches free or at a reduced rate to those students who qualify. If you want to apply for this program, please submit a Free and Reduced Lunch Application.

For your convenience there are a number of ways students can purchase their school meals.

• For lunch accounts, CNS uses My School Bucks, an online pre-payment system where parents can deposit any amount of money into their student’s accounts using VISA, MasterCard, Discovery and electronic checks (small fee applicable), check transaction records and set up email notifications of low balances.
• Payments with cash or check can also be made at the front office or when the student goes through the lunch line. Make checks payable to Child Nutrition Services and be sure to write your child's name, classroom and teacher on the check. Some school offices will give you a receipt if you pay in the front office, however no receipts are given in the lunch line. Please contact the CNS office if you would like to obtain a transaction report with payment history.
• Currently all a la carte sales are cash only – no pre-paying is accepted.

If a student forgets or loses their lunch money the student will be allowed to charge their meal. Students are only allowed to charge twice or carry a negative balance of $5.50.

The school menu follows federal nutrition standards for school meals. Review the lunch menu and discuss with your students the options available daily for school lunch.
